Passion, Creative Endeavors

Hi all, the last time I wrote it was pretty much dark times for me. I found my password for bloggers and thought I would come on to write about the good things that has been happening.
Enough of the dark side of life. I also decided to share my blog with others this could be a mistake sharing personal experiences but what the heck, I'm letting it show.
I'm taking portrait art classes and this has been a dream of mine forever. I still love fused glass but the way the economy is here in Las Vegas, I have decided it's time to work on another passion.
I'm taking classes with Ken Mc Donald a teacher, art historian, owner of a gallery for 14 years and jury's numerous art shows. Ken is a very gentle teacher he shows me the rules of art and allows me to pick the area I want to learn. I am using charcoal and pencil and we just started working on acrylics. I LOVE IT! Ken's favorite medium is oils. If any of you live in the Vegas area come join us. Ken is also teaching me the business of art. Here in Vegas it's pretty difficult so many galleries have closed but it doesn't mean I shouldn't take the time to learn and figure out way's I will eventually sell my art. If any of you are having any luck selling online could you please share your experience with me. I have shown in galleries many time with fused glass but I want to learn as much as I can for new options of where to show with my paintings. Let me tell you a little about my art teacher. He paints seascape, still life, portraits, caricatures and cartoons. If your interested in taking classes in the Las Vegas area you can contact Ken Mc Donald at (702)871-1421 or email him at Oaxacan@aol.com. It has taken some time for me to find the right teacher and I'm so glad I found a true art teacher with a great deal of knowledge in this field. Ken formerly was the Art Director for Widmen Gallery which was a beautiful casino to show art. I hope everyone who has a passion for expressing themselves will take charge and do just they love.
Peace out, and thanks for reading my post.
